Blake Shelton, the boyfriend of former Nashville Star finalist Miranda Lambert would like to give country wannabe Jessica Simpson some down home Nashville friendly advice. Mellow out! According to a report from Life & Style Weekly Jessica Simpson was a lil’ bit country and a whole lot Hollywood during her recent trip to Nashville, Tenn., to promote her new single, “Come on Over,” from her upcoming country album.

According to the report from the magazine the 27-year-old star brought along a bodyguard, which has country music’s biggest stars raising their eyebrows. “Nashville is probably not the type of town where you need bodyguards,” Nashville-based country crooner Blake Shelton tells Life & Style. “It’s a really friendly place.”

The article notes that Jessica must have felt she needed protection in Music City. “When she was at Lime nightclub with her girlfriends, her bodyguard stood there the whole time,” says a Nashville music-industry insider. “No one in Nashville goes out with a bodyguard, not even Garth Brooks! People in Nashville are so used to seeing stars that they don’t pay much attention to them. Maybe an occasional request for an autograph, but that’s about it.”

Still, Blake concedes it may not be such a bad idea after all. “If I’m around Jessica Simpson,” jokes the smitten singer, “she might need some bodyguards to keep me away from her!”
