Dollhouse actress Heather Matarazzo is engaged to musician Carolyn Murphy. The lesbian couple have been together for a year. Heather Matarazzo came out as a lesbian in 2004. In an interview with the New York Daily News she said, "I met the person I'm so madly crazy in love with. She's not famous yet. She will be. She wants to do musical theater and stage, which is not as demoralizing as the movie business is."

By casually mentioning her partner's gender, Matarazzo took a huge step and subtly announced to the world, "I am a lesbian." Matarazzo played a geeky seventh grader in Welcome to the Dollhouse. Her more recent roles include more gawky roles in The Princess Diaries, Hostel: Part II and Believe in Me.

Because the couple does not have a specific male or female role, they both proposed. Her publicist Lisa Jammal told E! News: "It was really cute. First Heather proposed to Carolyn, then Carolyn proposed to her."
