Britney Spears seems oblivious that she is one of the celebrities that have political pundits talking about pop culture.  Paris Hilton now not only strips down in her swimsuit to poke fun at John McCain on video, she now has a pretty decent energy policy.  That seems to be the thinking of "possible McCain veep" Joe Lieberman.  The US Senator from Connecticut has chimed in on the Britney and Paris ad.

According to the Hartford Operant, Joe Lieberman reportedly said the ad is "creative" and people should calm down about it. "To some extent the appearance of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears -- people complain about it -- they should just relax and enjoy it."  The ad certainly has been successful and really seems to throw Barack Obama off stride.

Is that what the leaks that Joe Lieberman is being considered for a the number two spot on a McCain-Lieberman ticket all about?  Picking Lieberman might not make a lot of sense and it should be easily discounted.  However, nothing McCain has done so far has made much sense and he is still hanging in there against what seems like some very tough odds.

The Courant has the video of one time party girls Paris Hilton and Britney Spears here and note that Lieberman added, "The idea is to draw people into the ad. The point of the ad is really quite strong: Who's ready to lead America?"
