Pastor Rick Warren will host the first quasi debate of the general election season at the Saddleback Church in Lake Forrest, California live on Saturday night. It would be Barack Obama vs. John McCain head to head from the church but instead of toughening up and going at each other face to face they will both answer questions from Pastor Rick Warren separately.
McCain Obama Quasi Debate Live Saturday With Rick Warren
Many will believe that makes about as much sense as the Jackson Browne lawsuit that has been filed against McCain. The old school rocker and staunch liberal is unhappy that an anti-Obama ad that mocked the US Senator for his suggestion for Americans buy a tire gauge and keep their tires inflated to free the US from a dependency on foreign oil. The ad featured the jackson browne tune "Running on Empty" playing underneath the spot.

See a video of the classic rock tune by Browne (with Bruce Springsteen) here. The McCain campaign says the ad was an independent TV spot created away from his campaign, but Jackson Browne's attorneys have included McCain in the lawsuit anyway. Back to tonight's "debate" Pastor Rick warren says Barack Obama will go first and while he is answering questions John McCain will be in a sound proof booth.
Yes, it is just like a 1970's game show. These two should face each other in debates, not go on stage separately. Barack Obama has taken a lot of criticism from McCain as the Arizona senator is trying to paint Obama as being afraid of debates. McCain had earlier asked for Obama to appear against him in several town hall style debates but Obama has declined. Shouldn't these two square off head to head?
