Dancing with the Stars is nothing without a little romance rumors. Last season Derek Hough hooked up with the buxom Shannon Elizabeth and they made waves when they were photographed making out on the beach. NFL star Reggie Bush doesn't want that with his lady Kim Kardashian, a new report suggests.

A report from the National Enquirer this week claims that the New Orleans Saints running back wasn't very happy when he found out that Kim was going to compete. The magazine reports, "Kim Kardashian's participation in the 7th season of "Dancing With the Stars" almost didn't happen - because her jealous boyfriend feared she'd be swept off her feet by her dance partner."

In fact, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" sexpot had to beg NFL player Reggie Bush to let her appear on the show, say sources. "He's overprotective and super jealous, and hated the idea of seeing Kim in the arms of a handsome dancer," Kim's pal told The Enquirer.

The insider added, "When Kim told Reggie she was being considered for the show, he pitched a fit and told her 'no way'. But Kim desperately wanted to be a contestant and argued with Reggie for weeks."

Reggie had heard stories of onstage chemistry leading to real-life romances for past dancers - and feared it could happen with Kim. So before she signed the contract, he made her promise there would be no flirting - and Kim agreed, says the pal. "It's not that he doesn't trust Kim, but he know she's a big flirt."

The magazine notes that during Season 3, Mario Lopez started dating his partner Karina Smirnoff. Romance rumors were so intense between race car driver Helio Castroneves and his partner Julianne Hough during Season 5 that Helio broke off his engagement.

Last season's love connection between actress Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough is still going strong. And the winner of the second season - married singer Drew Lachey - is still denying reports that he had a fling with his partner, Cheryl Burke.
