Season seven of American idol is getting smaller as David Cook has set a release date for his sure to be smash album. Funny how this works out but just in time for the Christmas season you will be able to get the debut album from American idol David Cook as it hits stores on November 18. And while David moves away from idol female judges Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi are tring to ramp up the interest for AI season eight but they are not not in any type of a catfight, Abdul says.

American idol needs some serious shaking up after seven seasons and though there are always the rumors that Paula Abdul or perhaps Randy Jackson are set to leave the show it appears that Randy and Paula will return for another season though the show has added Kara DioGuardi to the mix.

When it was announced that Kara DioGuardi was set for joining bad boy Brit Simon Cowell along with Jackson and Abdul to judge the American idol contestants, immediately reports claimed that Paula was unhappy and the phrase 'American Idol catfight' were bandied about.

Paula says no way and she loves having Kara around. She tells the New York Post, "The American Idol cast was such a boys club, now I have a true sister to share the fun with. It's been amazing."
