Richie Sambora and Denise Richards took a bit of heat for taking up so quickly after his split with Hollywood golden girl Heather Locklear. Many felt sympathy for Heather and even as Denise was heading through the really nasty times with her soon to be ex Charlie Sheen polls showed that few felt sympathy.

Now a report from Life & Style Weekly set for publication this week claims Richie wants Heather back.

The report details that with his divorce from Heather nearly final; Richie is having a change of heart. An insider tells the weekly magazine Life & Style that while Richie’s girlfriend, Denise Richards, was in Hawaii; Richie had two “incredibly emotional” phone conversations with Heather.
“He’s realizing its ending and doesn’t want it to,” the insider tells L&S. “He’s still in love with her.”
So what do men in love an in trouble do at times like this? Send flowers - or in Richie's case - a lot of flowers. The report claims that on Aug. 10, the insider says Richie sent Heather a massive $500 bouquet of red and pink roses.

The mag claims that Richie's father was recently diagnosed with cancer and that was a wake up call for Richie family-wise.
His father’s recent cancer diagnosis has made Richie realize the importance of keeping his family together - a point driven home during a father-daughter vacation to the Grand Canyon with Ava, 6, earlier in August.
“Any time he spends with Ava now is very special,” says the insider. “And it makes him want to make things right with Heather.”

As for ending his relationship with Denise the insider tells the magazine, “Richie respects her, and there’s passion there, but he’s going to see how it plays out.”
