Jessica Simpson and ex hubby Nick Lachey could have had a very awkward moment at the Teen Choice awards as both were nominated in the 'hottie' category.

It would have been a great television moment if they would have both won the award, but alas two smoking hotties, Jessica Alba and Orlando Bloom picked up boards for the hottie category.

But Nick did note a bit of what had to be a little weird.
Nick flashed his great smile as he picked up the board for 'Love song' for his hit 'What's Left of Me and said:
"Awkward? A little bit."
The live Fox broadcast co-hosted by his ex-wife, Jessica Simpson. "Take that, Jessica," a fan yelled out in the packed Gibson Amphitheatre.

But the two didn't cross paths on stage.
USA Today notes that the singer accepted his award from One Tree Hill's Sophia Bush, who split from husband and co-star Chad Michael Murray in September after five months of marriage.
Earlier, Bush had advice for Lachey if an awkward moment were to arrive: "Just be polite and mature. It's not that complicated." Murray, who attended the awards with fiancée Kenzie Dalton, also was a presenter.
