The speculation of the ever present triangle of Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston seemed to hit a nice quiet lull for a month or so once the Pitt-Jolie clan returned to California.

That now seems to be over as the entertainment weeklies are zeroing in on the threesome even tough the much anticipated Malibu showdown never materialized.

A report from Life & Style Weekly claims that Angelina Jolie is frustrated and Brad Pitt is still trying to reach out to his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.

The Hollywood A-list is such a small world.

According to the report in the weekly magazine Brad "misses Jen and misses how Jen made him feel."  The chatty insider continues, "Jen gave him confidence and brought out the best in him.  She always encouraged Brad to pursue his hobbies like his love of architecture."

Brad doesn't seem the type to lack confidence but he allegedly is actively reaching out to America's sweetheart.

Earlier reports claimed that Brad was trying to get a face-to-face meeting with his ex, not to get back with the beauty, but to give her career advice and "apologize for giving her so much heartbreak," the article states.

So - is Jennifer taking the calls?  Not according to Life & Style.

"So far Jen is resisting because she is still trying to get over him," the friend details. Seeing Brad again would just stir up old feelings and Jen doesn't want to do that," the insider says.

Is this just a phase?  Will Brad’s nostalgia for Jen come between him and Angelina the magazine asks.

“The future doesn’t look promising for them,” the insider tells L&S.
