Will the family of John Mark Karr cash in and actually make money off the confessed killer and the tragic murder of six-year old JonBenet Ramsey?  According to the family, yes and no.

They will make money, gbut will use it for his children and to pay for his defense.

The father and brother of John Mark Karr have hired author and producer Larry Garrison to represent the family in any book or media deals that might come out this circus.

They are offering book and movie rights to their story, said Larry Garrison, a producer hired by the family to work on media deals, the Associated Press reported yesterday.

But the money will be donated to some sort of charity - right?

“They’re not looking for money themselves,” Garrison said on Wednesday, according to the AP. “They’re looking to support John’s boys’ college education and to make sure all legal fees are covered.”

“These people are spiritually coming from the right place,” Garrison insisted. “They’re really good people. They’re family oriented. They’re not greedy. They’re looking for the spin to stop.”

It sounds as if they are looking to do a little spinning of their own.

“I can tell you they (members of his family) proclaim his innocence,” said Garrison. “They feel he was not there at the time, that some of the statements made by the press are absurd.”

This case is already far too bizarre and no one should be surprised that the family is tring to raise money for Karr's defense.

But this will just bring more criticism on Karr and now his family as assuredly many will believe that they are all trying to cash in on the brutal murder of an innocent six-year old girl.
