D.L. Hughley has never been one to shy from controversy and now he has been handed a show by CNN. Will it be a 'Daily Show' rip off or a sitcom? D.L. Hughley says it won't be either. He says he is a fan of Jon Stewart and that he has a different skill set. "I’m not going to parody a news show or a news anchor," Hughley told reporters.

Is this a risk for CNN or a natural fit? What About Our Daughters has a detailed article noting what they believe are many of the shortcomings of D.L.'s comedy (including video) and wonder aloud on the decision by CNN.

The item begins, "Now with all the Black journalists floating around CNN, you would think that network would turn to one of them to be the new host of a new weekly show. Nope, they chose to go with a Black “comedian” and I use that word loosely."

The show will be called “D.L. Hughley Breaks the News." Certainly it is a very different choice for CNN but many think their coverage is now a joke, so perhaps D.L. Hughley will fit right in. I think I'd rather see him in a sitcom. Will you watch?
