Prop 8: California Election Results, Did Proposition 8 Pass?

California went to the polls on Tuesday night and the California Election results are mostly in on Wednesday morning.  The question for the California Election results now center on Prop 8. Did Proposition 8 pass in California?  We know that this was a "change" election" did california change its way of thinking on gay marriage and Prop 8?

Proposition 8 was an initiative state constitutional amendment on the 2008 California General Election ballot, titled "Eliminates Right of Same-Sex Couples to Marry."  If it does pass, the proposition would "change the California Constitution to eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry in California.

A new section would be added stating "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California."  The measure was originally submitted for the ballot by petitioners with the title "California Marriage Protection Act."  

So, did the measure pass?  It looks positive for those that are against gay marriage.  Proposition 8 is still undecided, but proponents of the measure are claiming victory.  Follow the election results here for California,
