Can you tell me how Marge and Kay on "Young and Restless" first hooked up, Johna of San Diego, asks. A: It was in 1989. A friend of Marge had a scheme to get Kay's money. Poor Kay was kidnapped. Marge took on Kay's persona, and did a fine job imitating Kay. There was one problem: Marge was a harlot. While Kay liked to have a good time, she was hardly a sleep-around girl. Kay's son, Brock, realized something was amiss.
Brock found his kidnapped mother. Kay decided not to press charges against Marge when she learned that Gina's husband, Clint, was the man behind the scheme. Marge went back to slinging hash. Kay found her Marge low 20 years later. Kay decided Marge needed in-house treatment for her alcoholism. No good deed goes unpunished; the duo was in a car crash. Everyone thought the dead body in the car was Kay's. Now Kay, uncertain of who she is, is now pouring coffee at Marge's diner.

Q: I am a fairly new viewer to "One Life to Live." Viki often talks about her alternate personalities. How many did she have? What caused her various personalities? -- Lauren, Provo, Utah
A: Over the years Viki has had six personalities. The first alter ego to come to light was Niki Smith. While Viki was staid, Niki was a good-time girl. She slept with every man she met, said anything she thought and dressed like a hooker. Then came Tommy, a teenager from hell. He resented everyone. When Tommy was out, he committed various crimes. A more stable personality was Jean Randolph, an anal retentive lady who would make certain all the fringe on a rug was going in the same direction.
Jean also felt she had the answer to all problems. In a sense she is like Jessica's alter Bess. Then there was Tori, who tired to kill her pedophile father, Victor. It was Viki's young alter Princess who was raped by her father. At one point Viki became Victor Lord, who pressured Viki to kill herself. When viewers grew tired of Viki and her other personalities, writers decided to pass on the plot to Jessica. When Viki was Niki, she often took Jessica to bars. One of the patrons raped Jessica. Erika Slezak, who portrays the now fully integrated Niki, has won six Daytime Emmy Awards -- more than any other actress.
