It was a wild ride on the UK's popular "X Factor" program, as American pop princess Britney Spears continued her comeback while dissing "X Factor" and "American Idol" creator Simon Cowell on his home turf. According to reports, Cowell was actually banned from meeting the star in her room by Brit Brit's handlers. Simon and judges Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue were forced to huddle in a corridor just to grab a publicity photo with her.

Britney's performance was panned by the British media for similar reasons her ill-advised MTV comeback attempt last year bombed. She lyp-synched (badly), and her dance routine left a lot to be desired. And she also reportedly snubbed contestants — by rehearsing in private and later revealing she hadn't even watched them sing her hits. Um, that's the point of the whole show, Brit!

Britney also bolted the moment she could, and headed to London's G.A.Y. club. Britney, clad n a Rolling Stones T-shirt, further aggrivated her UK hosts when she failed to sing even though 1,500 fans chanted her name and gave her a cake for her birthday on Tuesday. However, the appearance was a huge success, as Saturday's X Factor helped pull in 12.8 million viewers, which is its highest ever rating.
