They’re rich, famous and beautiful – but some of the most famous gals from American Idol just can't seem to meet their perfect match. They are adorable and American Idol winners but Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood haven't done so well in the love department. Kelly Clarkson sticks it to her exes. Kelly Clarkson suitors beware. “People are afraid I’ll write about them. And I will,” admits the 26-year-old of how she gets inspired for some of her angrier songs. “I think that’s why I’m single,” adds the American Idol.

She has famously called it quits with fellow musicians such as Ryan Key, Graham Colton and ex-Evanescence vocalist David Hodges, the subject of her scathing hit “Never Again.” “I didn’t even really like the guy,” she says. “Maybe I had to go through that and learn more about myself. Maybe that’s why I don’t date much, either.”

Carrie Underwood is taking her sweet time. “I’ve been cheated on a time or two,” says Carrie Underwood. “It’s tough.” So tough, apparently, that the 25-year-old wrote a song, “Before He Cheats,” about a furious girlfriend who destroys the car of the man who betrayed her.
Carrie, who has had false romantic starts with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (who’s now dating rival Jessica Simpson) and Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford (the couple broke up via text), is still hoping to meet that someone special. “Definitely! That’s why we’re here on this earth,” she says. “I’m not looking, and I don’t have a deadline. But yeah, you have to have someone to love.”
