I heard that Tony Geary (Luke) is leaving "General Hospital." Can that be true? -- Robin, Newton, Mass. A: No. Geary just signed a new contract with the show. He was able to keep the clause that allows him to be on and off the GH canvas. The show's writers and producers think Luke is the kind of guy who will take off in tense times or when adventure calls.
Soaps Q&A: Will Tony Geary Leave General Hospital?
Geary lives in Amsterdam when he is not on the show. There was a time when Geary really wanted to exit GH. He did for a while; he made movies and appeared on the stage. But he returned to the show. Now he likes to call the GH set home as long as he does not have to hang his hat there all the time.

Q: Is "Guiding Light" going to return to its studio sets? -- Andre, Deerfield, Mich.
A: No. Ellen Wheeler's change from indoor sets to more outdoor shoots in Peapack, N.J., and the use of office space for sets has saved the show lots of money. It was money that enabled them to bring back Grant Aleksander as Phillip. Aleksander happens to like the new GL look. Barbara Bloom, president of CBS Daytime, admits GL still has a ways to go on the new look, but is pleased with the overall direction of the show. As for the cast, this winter hand-warmers were a must. Some of the actors believe the outdoor sets allow for more adlibbing.
