It was nice "Star Trek" surprise, as Leonard Nimoy and members of the cast of the new “Star Trek” screened the film last night at the Alamo South in Austin, a report from Austin 360 notes of the impromptu Star Trek surprise they pulled off. It sounds like a veey cool moment and is actually being reported that way by many.

Trek Movie reports, "Tonight Paramount pulled off one of the coolest stunts in fan history. Promoted as just a 10 minute preview of the new Star Trek to show along with The Wrath of Khan, tonight fans in Austin, TX were actually shown the entire new Star Trek movie."

Video here from the appearance and lots and lots of coverage including some of the very first reviews of the movie. Austin 360 notes "(It's) one of those famous surprise sneaks Fantastic Fest often pulls. FF and Alamo honcho Tim League apologized to us. “Sworn to secrecy!” he says, and, OK, we believe him." Lots of photos linked here.
Trek Movie notes, the first reviews are very positive from Austin and "are already out on a number of geeky/film websites. Summary paragraphs from each are provided along with the links for full reviews "but beware of spoilers (nothing too major)," Anthony Pascale notes.
