American idol has slid in the ratings and the blame is being pushed everywhere, even to the shows only real star Adam Lambert! Is it Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle and her phenomenal YouTube sensation that has viewers bored with the American TV reality show? Or is Lambert just so far ahead that viewers are tuning out.

CNN reports that in the last few weeks, "American Idol" is having some of its worst ratings ever. But could it possibly have to do with YouTube singing sensation, Susan Boyle? She has been all the buzz along with some extraordinary young talent on the U.K. TV show "Britain's Got Talent". But where's the buzz for "Idol"?

CNN Headline News 'Showbiz' Tonight promises a look and A. J. Hammer adds, "And Simon Cowell is Boyle-buzzing too. On top of all of that, there are brand new reports that two big "Idol" judges may be leaving the show! So is "American Idol" in crisis?"

It's hard to imagine anything getting in the way of this ratings juggernaut, but the numbers are down! Is it the judges? Is it the contestants? Lots of questions but few solid answers. Here are a few things that might be bringing idol down.

The talent is way down this season and the judges picked some awful girls' contestants (only one remains) meaning if you tune in to watch the women you are now tuning out. Add to that the judges are now about as stale as possible and certainly no one tunes into to listen to Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.

Surely Kara DioGuardi will be dumped after this tough season but the only way to really jolt this competition is to dump Paula, Randy and Kara and get someone in that is fresh and doesn't talk about pitch problems or mumbles 'You're a star' after each performance.
