Did Jessica Simpson leave for vacation with her longtime boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo, just in time? Los Angeles based photo agency X17 Online is reporting that the newlywed star turned country singer, Jessica, was spotted recently in California at a Calabasas restaurant having lunch with non other than her ex, and recent Jennifer Aniston ex, John Mayer.

According to the website the two were extremely careful not to be noticed or seen, and a source stated, "Jess and John looked so happy to see each other, and it looked to me like they were more than friends!"

The pair, who dated for several months in 2007, aren’t known for running with the same crowd so it does seem odd that they were spotted together again after all this time. Perhaps, Jess was being a good friend and giving John a shoulder to cry on.

He split in February with Jennifer Aniston after dating her off and on for almost a year. Rumors have been dogging Jessica for months about troubles in her current relationship with Tony Romo, but the couple seem to survive quite nicely. Just a friendly lunch?
