Just before Jon and Kate Plus 8 took over the celebrity weekly magazine coverage (Jon and Kate Gosselin have now filed for divorce but will continue to do their reality TV show on TLC, they announced on Monday night's show.) LeAnn Rimes was presented on the cover of Us Weekly magazine with all sorts of accusations. The Gosselin family troubles then took over coverage but it appears Rimes is still trying to pick up the pieces.

The fresh-faced country music superstar, has spoken about the trials of tabloid attention after it was alleged that she was having an extra-marital affair. In a recent interview, she said: "I’ve been in the tabloids recently [too], and it’s been really hard for me."

Both she and actor Eddie Cibrian, with whom she was linked, denied the charge. Being so long in the public eye has not guaranteed protection for Rimes.

"I've been in the public eye since I was 14, so I have a tough skin. It’s fine dragging me through the mud, but don’t drag my loved ones through it. They're my family, and it hurts them."
