Diane Keaton was taken to hospital after she was injured while filming a sumo-wrestling scene on the set of her new movie. The actress donned a special 'fat suit' for Morning Glory in New York on Monday morning. Onlookers say cameras were rolling as she was thrown in the air and slammed to the ground by a fellow actor as part of the scene.

She then got up and appeared to be fine. But then the actors filmed the scene for a second time - and when Keaton was thrown down, she failed to get up again, before panicked producers called for medical assistance. An eyewitness said: "At first, it looked like the scene had gone OK. "But then she didn't get up and didn't seem to be moving.

"Producers spoke to her while she was on the ground and then there was a lot of frantic activity. After about 25 minutes, an ambulance arrived." The source said that after emergency crews showed up, the midtown Manhattan set was put onto almost total lockdown.

The source said: "The crew's security guards were blocking photographers' view with umbrellas. "She was covering her face up. She was conscious." Medics put a neck brace on her and Keaton, 63, was then placed on to a stretcher and wheeled into an ambulance, the source said. "Diane Keaton is in good health and spirits following a fall on set of Morning Glory where she bumped her head," a statement released by Paramount Studios read.
