Shanna Moakler Brawls With Paris Hilton

Shanna Moakler and Paris Hilton have been involved in a brawl of sorts at the Hollywood hotspot Hyde.  Hilton claims she was punched in the face by Shanna Moakler at Hollywood nightclub in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Paris Hilton and Shanna Moakler have both filed police reports according to media reports.

According to AOL’s Entertainment web site TMZ, Paris says Moakler socked her in the jaw. Moakler claims Paris' ex shoved her down some stairs. 

Ah- to be young and in Hollywood.

The details:

Hilton alleges the estranged wife of rocker Travis Barker walked up to her at around 1 am, "used the most vile of language" and then hit her in the jaw, according to her publicist Elliot Mintz. 

However, Moakler claims Hilton's on-off boyfriend Stavros Niarchos bent her wrist back, before pouring a drink over her and pushing her down some stairs.

Hilton's publicist Mintz tells ABCNews.com, "(Moakler) shouted a barrage of obscenities and attacked her.  "She called me right afterwards and told me that she did not need to go to the hospital, but that she would file a police report.

Moakler insisted she never socked Hilton.

"I absolutely did not punch Paris Hilton," she told the syndicated TV show "Extra" in an interview airing tonight.

The problem:

TMZ cites sources that sat the bad blood between Hilton and Moakler is over Hilton's friendship with Travis Barker, Moakler's estranged husband.

"I can't say for certain why this happened, but Moakler is known to be upset by rumors that Paris is dating Travis Barker. Those rumors are not true. They are not dating."
