Cindy Sheehan rose to fame by using her son's bravery in the armed services to protest the war in Iraq.  Sheehan's son, Casey Sheehan died while on patrol in Iraq on April 4th, 2005.

Calling herself a Peace Mom, the anti-war activist has made outlandish statements against America, including saying at one point, "this country's not worth dying for."

She later tried to claim that she meant that she was talking about Iraq.

While snuggling up with anti-American leader Hugo Chavez in January Sheehan dubbed American President George W. Bush a terrorist during an event hosted by Venezuela’s leftist leader.

"By his own definition, he is a terrorist," said Sheehan.

"George W. Bush is responsible for killing tens of thousands of innocent people and his definition of a terrorist is someone who kills innocent women, men and children," she told other invited guests at the live broadcast of President Hugo Chavez’s weekly program.

Sheehan called for the impeachment of Bush whom she accused of "war crimes."

It is not clear who nominated Sheehan.

Sheehan has largely been ignored by the mainstream media after an initial love affair in August 2005.  Most quickly grew tired of her act and tuned her out once she became a full time America-bashing bore.

She made the announcement that she had been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize while hawking her book, "Peace Mom," in Texas according to a report by KVUE News.

This nomination will tweak Conservatives in America and that's likely what the person that allegedly nominated her had in mind.
