Should the popular daytime show go a completely different route or stick with a tried a true measure?

Male or female?  Young or old?

Fremantle Media, which owns "Price," has been looking for Barker‘s replacement for "two or three years," Barker said.  And he has some advice for whoever takes the job: learn the show‘s 80 games backwards and forward.

On the female side the names being tossed around range from the young and sexy Vanessa Minnillo to the absurd - Paris Hilton.  Meredith Viera is always mentioned but between the Today Show and Millionaire she probably needs a break somewhere.

On the male side how about Nick Lachey?   And it looks like everyone's favorite might be Richard Karn, better known as Al from Home Improvement.   It looks like the serious choice may have already have been leaked.

Page Six thinks the 'Price' will be right for CBS "Early Show" weatherman Dave Price. Wait - who?

Price just re-upped his contract with the network and may have gotten a sweet side deal - to host the long-running game show "The Price is Right," according to the paper.

The NY Daily News reports that in September, Price was trying out Barker's job in the Broadway offices of FremantleMedia (which distributes and produces the game show with CBS), according to a Manhattan man who answered a Craig's List post to be an audience member in a mock run-through.

Cue the rep™: A rep for CBS, Chris Ender, told the NY Post, "Bob just informed us of his plans. It's premature to discuss another potential host."
