Britney Spears went on a near two-week partying binge that concluded with her dancing in the window of Los Angeles restaurant with a short skirt flashing the crowd gathered outside, photographers included.

Even though the young lady turned 25 years old that day many pondered and asked - where's her mother?

Frankly - there is little mom can do if Britney wants to go on a wild child post-Kevin Federline spree.  She can preach to Britney, but aside from giving her advice and counsel, she has little power over her daughter.

Her dada is trying according to Us Weekly.  The weekly magazine reports that father Jamie recently had a stern talk with his Britney. The magazine notes, "He was not happy with her antics…he told her that she's a grown woman and needs to act like one, and she's been making bad decisions."

Will the fear of losing cash stop Britney or the law?

Fox News notes in an online report that family values advocates, business experts and Hollywood gossip gurus alike have been speculating on the impact, if any, that the bare-under-there shots will have on the Britney empire, especially among her younger fans.

They cite Charmaine Yoest, communications vice president for the conservative Family Research Council think tank and the mother of five children, who said that if her kids asked for Spears' fragrances, Curious and Fantasy, or a Britney album or DVD, she'd tell them, "You've got to be kidding!"

Page Six lead item this morning notes that her family is aghast at her all-night partying with Hilton and Davis and were mortified when, on four separate occasions, Spears was shot by paparazzi not wearing any underwear.

A family source cited by the New York Post said her mother, Lynne, "is very disturbed and has been trying to get a hold of Britney, but she can't. Lynne, Britney's brother, Brian, and her dad, Jamie, are very upset and are trying to stage an intervention with [Spears' manager] Larry Rudolph's help."

An intervention is due.

Will the California authorities show up and step in?  And would they even have a case?  The same item from the Post claims that the Los Angeles Department of Children & Family Services wants to get a hold of Britney, but it is not clear what they would want or could do.  Certainly the kids are safe at the home.

Britney has appeared to put a halt on her serial flashing and her pantyless tour.  Only time will tell if she starts back up - or if she has helped or hurt her career.
