Nicole Richie made a big splash with her arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence when she was popped by California authorities for headed down an off ramp and driving the wrong way on a California freeway. She admitted to smoking pot and taking Vicodin when police arrested her.
But according to a report, the tiny actress was involved in some fairly wild nights with new BFF Ashlee Simpson around Hollywood in the nights leading up to her arrest.

A report from American magazine Us Weekly claims that Nicole was spotted out six nights during the week of December 3-10, hitting the usual Hollywood club fare of Teddy's, Chateau Marmont and Shag.
She was arrested early on Monday.

The weekly entertainment magazine cites an eyewitness that spotted her and Ashlee on December 9 partying away. According to the report published in this week's print edition of the magazine the witness says, "The club promoters ordered bottle after bottle of alcohol for their table and they drank and drank while holding hands and dancing together the whole night."
While friends insisted to the magazine that Nicole is never out of control, the article details that Nicole has been in trouble before citing her previous arrest for DUI and her February 2003 arrest for heroin possession.
Richie just completed her three year's probation requirement for that infraction this year.

Other reports claim Richie will go to jail if she is convicted of driving under the influence. With her previous DUI charge, California law states that a repeat offence carries the mandatory jail sentence of five days.
If convicted, Nicole would also have her driving license suspended for one year and be ordered to attend an alcohol education program for a year-and-a-half, even if the second conviction is not alcohol-related.

Her attorney, Howard Weitzman, said she is prepared “to accept whatever responsibility is appropriate.” He adds, "This is a difficult time for Nicole but she is prepared to accept whatever responsibility is appropriate. She intends to continue with her career and will deal with any other issues that need to be addressed."
