Angelina Jolie spent the week leading up to Christmas Day in Los Angeles near her mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand.  According to In Touch Weekly the star said during a chat on Larry King Live that her mother, actress Marcheline, 56, is winning her long battle against ovarian cancer. "She's doing good," Angelina said on December 18. "She's very strong and her spirit remains unbroken."

She and her mom enjoyed a spa day at Raffles L'Ermitage hotel on December 16.

Next she was on the west coast doing a little last minute Christmas shopping stocking up on presents for kids Maddox, 5, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 7 months.

The sexy mom was spotted by Star Magazine at the Kitson store in L.A. four days before Santa's big day, according to the report.  The weekly entertainment magazine reports that Angelina, dressed in white blouse, white skirt, brown boots, and holding a white handbag, entered the store through the back on Thursday, Dec. 21.

"She wanted privacy," a source tells Star. "It's Christmastime and she's got three kids. She bought presents for all of them. Moms go shopping for their kids all the time and Angelina is a good mom. She's very hands-on."

Angelina scooped up toys, books and clothes for all three children.  Next up for Jolie, she moved on to show the true meaning of Christmas.  According to a report from the Associated Press, Angie spent Christmas Day with mainly Colombian refugees in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Jolie will visit several small businesses set up by refugees in San Jose with help from micro-loans from the U.N. agency. She also called for greater acceptance of refugees, who are often stigmatized, the report details.

"The best present we can give refugees is often a little more understanding and good will, not just at Christmas but all year long,'' she said.
