Angelina Jolie Gets an 'Meet Me' Answer From Jennifer Aniston?

When Angelina Jolie made the offer for Jennifer Aniston to 'meet her' in this month's issue of vogue many saw it as nothing more than a publicity stunt designed to soften Jolie's image.  Certainly the puffy-lipped siren was looked upon as a home wrecker by many fans when the whispers of an on-set romance with then Aniston hubby Brad Pitt emerged.

Brad, and the unmarried mother of his children Jolie have stuck with that story.  Jolie even made comments on it in Vogue with a clumsy timeline attempt saying that she and Brad didn't begin any kind of a sexual relationship until after the January 2005 split.

Jolie said she and Pitt remained "very, very good friends" after shooting "Smith." They were resigned to staying nothing more than pals, Jolie said, until Pitt and Aniston announced their breakup in early 2005.

But she basically contradicts herself in the interview. 

She admits in the interview that the film is where they started to fall in love. During filming, the co-stars "found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened. I think a few months in I realized, God, I can't wait to get to work. Whether it was shooting a scene or arguing about a scene or gun practice or dance class or doing stunts — anything we had to do with each other, we just found a lot of joy in it together and a lot of real teamwork." After a lot of contemplation, "life developed in a way where we could be together, and where it felt like something we would do, we should do."

Next up Jolie initially denies that she has met Aniston, but she clarifies herself. "We've, like, passed each other and said 'hi' briefly, shook hands. But not a real sit-down-and-talk kind of meeting." Will they have a proper meeting? "That would be her decision, and I would welcome it."

Now a report from Life & Style Weekly states the obvious, a friend of Aniston's reportedly spills to the magazine, it ain't gonna happen.  "Jen won't meet with Angelina," the friend dishes to the weekly entertainment magazine.  The reason given by the insider is that she has long put the split of her marriage behind her.

The 'meet me' challenge from Jolie will likely go unanswered.
