New mom and hard partying pop tart Britney Spears shocked fans on Saturday morning sporting a bald head and a wearing a couple of new tattoos.  So why did Britney pull this wild stunt?  Some say it was publicity, others say I is a meltdown and one report claims that it was to avoid a drug test that might be required using her hair.

Tattooist Emily Wynne-Hughes, who was in the shop, says she fears the drastic new look is a stark warning of Spears' emotional instability.  She says, "After (Britney) left, we said to each other, 'We just saw a huge celebrity on the verge of a nervous breakdown.' She seemed really distraught and disturbed. She was very scatterbrained. It was crazy, very surreal. She's definitely crying out."

"Extra" is now reporting that it has discovered new reasons why Britney Spears would shave her head.  In a report from OK! Magazine when Brit returned to her Malibu mansion last Friday after a short stay in an Antigua rehabilitation center, her soon to be ex, Kevin Federline was there waiting on her.

According to the magazine, after her return home, a blowout between the exes broke out.  “They had a huge argument,” revealed OK’s Rob Shuter. “Kevin threatened Britney that he was going to have people test her hair to find out exactly what she’s been up to. She was so scared. That was what made her have her head shaved.”

On Tuesday, it was confirmed that Spears checked into Malibu’s exclusive rehabilitation center, Promises.  Richard Rogg, Promise founder told Extra, “You have to hit a mental, spiritual, emotional kind of bottom,” Rogg said. “It’s that place where you are too afraid to go on living and too afraid to die.”
