It seems like one of the reasons that Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey bonded so quickly after Nick Lachey's post Jessica Simpson dating whirlwind in Hollywood was that she was not Jessica. At all. She loved sports, seemed a bit more grounded and Nick and Vanessa just seemed to be the perfect match. Now that they have been together for so long, marriage speculation comes every two weeks or so.

It also seems like every few weeks there is a report that Minnillo is still a bit miffed about Jessica's insistence on keeping in touch with her ex-husband. Jess said in a recent interview that she and Nick are still in touch and that was not going to change.

So - is this Vanessa's turn to get back at Jessica with a bit of imitation? According to veteran gossip Jeannette Walls, Vanessa, who hosts MTV’s “TRL,” wants to record an album.
"Vanessa has always loved entertaining, and making a record would be a dream come true," a friend of the couple tells In Touch Weekly Magazine. “Now she’s asking Nick to help her get started.” Minnillo has hired a vocal coach and Lachey took her to Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party, reports the mag, to meet some music bigwigs, the report details.
