Bill Clinton wagged his finger at the American people. Hillary Clinton claimed that her husband was faithful and that all of the stories surrounding Monica Lewinsky were nothing more than a 'vast right wing' conspiracy. The Clintons remained united in their lies and misstatements until those three letters, DNA, tripped them up.
A romantic intern that kept a blue dress with a deposit from Bubba and a lot investigation finally proved that Bill Clinton was unfaithful, regardless of the definition of "is" or "sex." Bill was caught lying, and Hillary was either proven a liar or really gullible. *** Now as we flash forward to 2008, it appears that Monica Lewinsky may again be in the news and on the campaign trail, sans her notorious presidential knee pads. Barack Obama and former North Carolina senator John Edwards argue that electing Hillary Clinton as president would revive the resentments of the '90s. Bill Clinton was able to charm his way around his infidelity, but Hillary isn't quite so charming. Can the old scandals work for Obama? It was dubbed Clinton fatigue by the time they left the White House with the silverware in tow in 2001. Should they be held accoutale, does it even matter? The Boston Globe writes, " The question for the current campaign is whether they nonetheless deserve some blame because of their behavior or their style of politics." *** "It's an open question, and how it gets answered could be the key to Hillary Clinton's fate." Will it really be dragged up again - and how should Hillary answer it?
