Sarah Palin is being mocked for notes the former Alaska Governor had scribbled on her hand that were caught by photographers and also on video when she spoke this weekend at a "Tea Party" convention. AOL's TMZ.Com got the ball rolling after the Huffington Post pointed out the notes.

The words "Energy", "Tax" and "Lift American Spirits" are what we can see scribbled on the palm of her left hand.

TMZ is usually an entertainment website, but couldn't pass this up and dipped into politics ever so slightly with a 'hand gets job done title' and mused after seeing the photo, "Sarah Palin was back in 10th grade biology class yesterday -- using cheat notes on her hand during the Q&A following her speech at the Tea Party Convention in Tennessee."

More here including the close up photo and lots of debate. One conservative that is not a Palin fan can't see the issue with the Sharpie scribble.

"Outside the Beltway's" James Joyner writes, "My anti-Palin credentials are undisputed. I've alienated countless readers on my side of the aisle by questioning the wisdom behind her nomination, calling her an ignoramus and a pop culture celebrity. I've been diagnosed with Palin Derangement Syndrome."

"But this seems much ado about nothing. If Sarah Palin likes to write buzz words on her hand, so what?"

This does seem to qualify if not define "petty political attacks" and makes it difficult to defend any use of an aid for a speech.  Can politicians no longer use a teleprompter or index card notes?

Palin seems to have laughed it off and hit back later, writing "Hi Mom!" on her hand while campaigning with Governor Rick Perry of Texas. Gateway Pundit has those pictures here.
