Sir Anthony Hopkins in Thor; Katie Holmes Replaces Liv Tyler in The Romantics

Movie news - The fabulous Katie Holmes has replaced Liv Tyler in "The Romantics" and "Hannibal" star Anthony Hopkins has reportedly been cast to play the role of Odin in the Marvel movie "Thor". Anthony, 71, will be playing the role of Thor and Loki's father Odin. Chris Hemsworth has already been signed up to star as Thor with Tom Hiddleston playing Loki.

The movie will be directed by Kenneth Branagh, and Natalie Portman is set for the role of Thor's love interest, Jane Foster. Thor will be scripted by Mark Protosevich and Zack Stentz and it sees the partly-disabled medical student Dr. Donald Blake's discovery of his Norse god alter-ego, Thor. The film will be released by Paramount Pictures on May 20, 2011.

More movies...Holmes has replaced actress Liv Tyler as the star of upcoming comedy flick The Romantics. The 30-year-old actress has recently come aboard the film and will executively produce as well as act in the star-studded movie alongside Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Elijah Wood, Adam Brody and Jeremy Strong.
Team Todd, Plum Pictures and Benaroya Pictures are producing the movie, which will soon start shooting in New York. The film sees eight friends from college reunite for wedding and Holmes will play Laura, the maid of honor to bride Lila, played by Paquin, 27. The two girls are best friends who have both had a past with the groom, played by Josh Duhamel. The screenplay has been adapted by Galt Niederhoffer from her novel and she will also direct.
