"Friends around the campfire and everybody's high," the late John Denver sang for the American classic, "Rocky Mountain High".  The voters of Breckenridge, Colorado, a ski town that just happens to be located in the Rocky Mountains, have voted to legalize marijuana.

The measure that passed " allows possession of up to one ounce of marijuana by adults 21 and older," report Jennifer Cox.  More here on the town's attempt to decriminalize marijuana.

More buzz...(apologies, couldn't resist) a very interesting piece for those that are unfamiliar with the medical marijuana laws in California by Steve Lopez of the Los Angeles Times is a fun read.  He muses, "All right, so I'm a few days late with this update on my medical marijuana adventures. In answer to readers, no, I was not too stoned to write about it earlier." You can judge for yourself here.

A factoid of interest from the item, "Nobody knows how many (medical marijuana) dispensaries there are in L.A.," he writes. "But estimates run as high as 1,000."
