It's time for all of those year-end lists that are so popular in December. In Touch Weekly is out with one and describes the world of pop culture and celebrity news as "one crazy year." In a year that saw Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan in rehab and also country music star Keith Urban, that group leads of the rehabbers the list, followed closely by the shocking passing of Anna Nicole Smith.
Britney Spears & Anna Nicole Smith Top "Crazy Year" Top Ten List
The number one grouping is titled "Everybody Loves Rehab" and notes that star were filled up this year with "Drug busts, drunk driving, homophobic slurs! When stars needed a place to redeem themselves for bad behavior, rehab was their destination of choice. From David Hasselhoff to Lindsay Lohan, stars were checking in left and right for drug and alcohol abuse, or, in the case of former Grey’s Anatomy star Isaiah Washington, psychological treatment. Of course, most celebrities flocked to luxurious treatment centers like Promises in Malibu, where Britney Spears spent a month, and the Cirque Lodge in Utah, where Lindsay completed her third attempt at treatment and stayed for about two-and-a-half months. “It was really humbling,” says the actress. “I learned who I am, and I’m very grateful."" 2. Anna Nicole’s Shocking Death
After Anna Nicole Smith’s 20-year-old son, Daniel, died on September 10, 2006, just three days after the birth of her daughter, the Playboy Playmate coped the only way she knew how — with drugs. On February 8, Anna Nicole’s lifeless body was discovered in her suite at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. The 39-year-old was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Her attorney, Ron Rale, said Anna Nicole had been suffering from flu-like symptoms, but an autopsy listed the cause of death as an accidental overdose of sleeping pills, Valium, Ativan and methadone. David Giancola, director of her last film, Illegal Aliens, says, “Ultimately, she died of a broken heart.” On March 2, Anna Nicole was laid to rest alongside Daniel at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens & Mausoleums in the Bahamas.
3. Rosie and Elisabeth Wage War
On The View, brash Rosie O’Donnell often made conservative co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck cry. But on May 23, Elisabeth finally fought back. After Rosie called her “cowardly” for not defending her when critics said she compared U.S. troops to terrorists, the two got into a screaming match. The day after the brawl, Rosie, whose contract was to expire a month later, left the show for good. “I don’t know if I would define us as friends,” Elisabeth said afterward. Although Rosie and Donald Trump fought bitterly this year, too, he took her side. Elisabeth is “probably the dumbest person on TV,” he said.
4. The Beckhams Come to America
Not since the Beatles has a British invasion created such a hullabaloo! On July 12, Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, her soccer-stud husband, David, and their kids, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, moved to Hollywood so David could play for the LA Galaxy. “We want to embrace the culture with open arms,” said Victoria, who took the boys to Toys “R” Us and T.G.I. Friday’s. “They are getting little parts of an American accent,” David admitted. “Romeo keeps saying, ‘Awesome!’ a lot!” Pals Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes threw Victoria and David a star-studded bash on July 22 to welcome them to the U.S.

5. Stars Behind Bars
There was a new celebrity hotspot in 2007, but it wasn’t a trendy club — it was jail! Paris Hilton, who violated her probation in a reckless driving case, started a media frenzy in June when she served three days of a 45-day sentence, was released to house arrest because of “medical” issues and then was thrown back in the clink for 18 more days. In August, a pregnant Nicole Richie served 82 minutes for a DUI and Lindsay Lohan did 84 minutes in November for her DUIs. Shia LaBeouf, Kid Rock, Daniel Dae Kim, Ty Pennington and Laguna Beach stars Jessica Smith and Jason Wahler were all arrested this year, too!
6. Major Transformations
They say looking good is the best revenge — and for these stars, that couldn’t be more true. Jessica Simpson, Reese Witherspoon and Spice Girl Melanie Brown all lost the pounds after going through devastating breakups, while Valerie Bertinelli and Kelly Osbourne made a choice to finally get rid of the excess weight that was dragging them down. “Life is so much better now,” says Valerie.
7. Star Adoptions
While their hearts were in the right place, some stars caused an uproar this year by seemingly sidestepping long waiting lists and taking home foreign babies. Angelina Jolie drew criticism when she adopted a 3-year-old Vietnamese boy in March and renamed him Pax Thien. Madonna came under fire for adopting a 1-year-old Malawian boy named David, whose father was too poor to care for him. But she refused to apologize. “After learning that there were over 1 million orphans in Malawi, it was my wish to open up our home and help one child escape,” Madonna said.
8. Celebrity Baby Boom
Baby bumps were the must-have accessory for Tinseltown’s A-list leading ladies in 2007. From Julia Roberts to My Name is Earl’s Jaime Pressly, Hollywood’s hottest stars were busy expanding their families — and their bellies. Christina Aguilera, Halle Berry and Nicole Richie proved that moms-to-be can still be fashion icons, while Tori Spelling, Bridget Moynahan, Salma Hayek and Naomi Watts shed their baby weight just weeks after welcoming their bundles of joy! And as In Touch revealed in September, after successful in vitro fertilization treatments, Jennifer Lopez had a hard time keeping her pregnancy under wraps during her fall tour with husband Marc Anthony. But in November, the superstar finally announced, “Marc and I are expecting!”

9. LC and Heidi’s Nasty Feud
Just as The Hills was getting boring, best friends Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag had a massive blowout over — who else — Heidi’s boyfriend Spencer Pratt. He allegedly spread a false rumor that Lauren and her ex Jason Wahler had made a sex tape. After trying to pin the blame on Spencer’s former best friend Brody Jenner, Heidi later speculated that Spencer might have been behind it. But that was after she went on a radio show and called Lauren “pathetic” and a “lowlife,” and Spencer wrote that she was “a spoiled brat” on his blog. Throughout it all, Lauren took the high road. After a few awkward near-misses at Hollywood hotspots, Heidi and Lauren finally had a sit-down, where Lauren shocked Heidi with this zinger: “I want to forgive you... and I want to forget you.”
10. Britney Shaves Her Head — Bald
It was the buzz heard around the world — or at least around Esther’s Haircutting Studio in Tarzana, Calif. — when Britney Spears shaved her head on February 16. With two bodyguards in tow, the troubled star, who’d been partying nonstop since filing for divorce from Kevin Federline, demanded a bald head. She took matters into her own hands when the owner refused to chop her hair. Later that night, Britney got a tattoo and told the artist she shaved her head because she was “tired of everyone touching me.”
