President Barack Obama is coming under criticism from a variety of folks for his decision to shut down public tours of the US White House and that will likely increase with the latest humorous claim that the White House dog won't have his trips canceled, but the doors to the White House will be closed for tours.

White House staff recently sent out emails canceling all tours starting March 9, "until further notice," due to staffing cuts that are a result of sequestration - the automatic spending cuts triggered because leaders couldn't agree on a better way to cut federal spending.

“We very much regret having to take this action, particularly during the popular Spring touring season,” the White House Visitors Office statement read.

An earlier report revealed that an official with the Secret Service told NBC News that the tours have been canceled because the Uniformed Division Officers who secure the tours have been reassigned to other security posts within the White House.

The item added that the move "is intended to cut overtime costs and ultimately reduce the number of furloughs the Secret Services could be facing."

MSN Now muses on it's website that conservatives are furious over the below report from Fox about Bo the dog (pictured).

The item notes:

"They're understandably peeved by the notion of Bo keeping his high-rolling lifestyle while the White House is attempting to pinch pennies by denying tours to children. But whether or not this rumor rankles you, come on, you've gotta admit: Bo must look pretty damn cute in that limo."
