Graham Barker Navel Lint Collection (Photos) 22.1 Grams Makes Guinness World Records
Oct 26, 2010
Graham Barker has a navel lint collection stored in clear jars totaling 22.1 grams and that is a Guinness World Record for largest navel lint collection. Graham takes a few seconds at the end of each day to dig out the lint in his belly button and store it in one of the containers.
He has managed to fill three sweet jars (pictured) with his fuzzy deposits dating back to 1984 - and has been recognized for his efforts with an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records.
In an odd story that gets the man his fifteen minutes of fame, the NY Daily News reveals that the Australian librarian has been told he has way too much time on his hands.
They may be right.
Instead of reading a book or two to pass the time, the paper reveals "Graham Barker, 45, has dedicated the past 26 years to staring into his own navel, carefully extracting 22.1 grams of multi-colored lint which he stores in clear jars."
He told the UK Daily Mail:
"I noticed the lint in my navel and became curious as to how much of it one person can produce," he said. "I decided the only way to find out was to collect it for a while and see."
More details and more photos of the man and his odd collection.
Graham, of Perth, Australia, said: "I doubt I'll ever have enough to stuff a cushion, but it may be handy for something one day."
