Last Minute Gift Ideas for Valentines Day 2012

Did you forget Valentine's Day 2012 and are now scrambling for a last minute gift idea that doesn't look like a last-minute effort?

Over 36 million heart-shaped boxes of chocolate are sold along with over a hundred million roses on the average Valentine's Day and with a quick search you can usually find plenty of flowers and candy left.

But what if you forgot a dinner reservation?

One suggestion, "grab takeout from your sweetie’s favorite restaurant and present it on your nicest china."

"Ambiance is everything so light candles and arrange food artfully on the plate. If you want to add an extra special element, consider setting up a picnic in front of your fireplace. Simply changing up your routine can do wonders for creating a romantic evening, without a lot of fuss or preparation time."

What about a card?

An estimated one billion Valentine's Day cards will be purchased this year and stores actually do run out of those.

However you can be saved with a personal card (you had better really put some thought in it) or you can always print a card on the printer at work or home with good card stock to really make it personal.

Are you broke?

Try this "green" suggestion (no it's not a massage coupon).

Most memories are formed from experiences, not objects. So make an experience this Valentine's Day. Walk around a park, picnic on a beach, go camping or bike somewhere new. Give the gift of a perfect day.

You may wish to toss in a cupcake or sweet with the walk.

Couples Gift?

Huff Post suggests purchasing some classes. This is a gift where the giver can also benefit. Get two sets of classes to something you've both always wanted to learn ... together. Dancing, wine tasting and yoga are all fun and sexy options.

Good luck and Happy Valentine's Day!
