Chad and Tye Malley were on a furious drive to the hospital so she could give birth in a hospital room when her water broke only two blocks away from their home and several blocks away from the hospital.

They weren't going to make it.

"I started to get panicky at that moment. I just knew that we weren't going to make it," Tye Malley told WOGX-TV.

Chad is a fireman, but he had never assisted in delivering a baby.

Still, he had to do the job and with the help of an emergency dispatcher, he delivered his own son.

The good news - all is well.

Baby Cais is healthy and weighed 9 pounds, 10 ounces.

The family said the baby's nickname will be the "Big Gulp."
