The mag says in a statement: "Vogue believes that good health is beautiful."

Vogue has banned models they deem too skinny and will also ban models under 16 years old from the pages of its magazine as well.

The 19 editors of Vogue magazines around the world made a pact to project the image of healthy models, according to a Conde Nast International announcement Thursday, reveals CBS.

"Vogue believes that good health is beautiful. Vogue Editors around the world want the magazines to reflect their commitment to the health of the models who appear on the pages and the well-being of their readers," said Conde Nast International Chairman Jonathan Newhouse in a statement.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals the company is asking that bookers confirm models’ ages via ID cards for all photo shoots, fashion shows and ad campaigns.

The report adds, the statement goes on to recognize that models are role models to many women and the company wants to ensure that its models "are well cared for and educated in ways that will encourage and help them to take care of themselves, addressing as many of the pressing issues relating to ill-health in the industry as can realistically be tackled."

The Celebrity Cafe reveals that in addition to the ban of young, unhealthily skinny models, Vogue also wants to develop a mentoring program that promotes good health amongst younger models, reports Entertainment Tonight.

"We know that there is an impact for young girls — and boys, by the way — of what is put in front of them in terms of media," said Elissa J. Brown, a professor of psychology at St. John’s University.
