If you watch Anderson Cooper on CNN you have obviously noticed the spot under his left eye that is visible on screen and he has now revealed that he has had a skin cancer scare. "On a personal note, I've been off for the last couple of days," the 40-year-old wrote on his Anderson Cooper 360° blog earlier this week.

He revealed, "I had minor surgery on Monday. A small spot of skin cancer was removed from under my left eye. I hadn't planned on mentioning this, but I still have stitches and you'll no doubt notice them tonight." He also jokes, "Don't want you to think I got into a fistfight with Charlie Rose."


If you are wondering where the joke with Rose comes from he did a face plant trying to save his MacBook Air from damage after he tripped and decided that the Apple was way more important that his face. That was a bad decision as he took it hard in the face. Check out his mug here.

"He was carrying a newly purchased MacBook Air and made a quick (but ultimately flawed) decision while falling: sacrifice the face, protect the computer." Producers said of Rose, "In doing so, he pretty much hit the pavement face first, unfortunately...The Macbook Air is fine, he showed us the blood stains on it this morning.”


Back to Anderson, Cooper's spokesperson, Shimit Sheetrit, says there was no indication the cancer had spread any further.
