Black Friday Best Day to Buy a Car
By Jess Snow

The best day to buy a car is the day retailers were once thought to get the company's books into the black. Black Friday is the best day to haggle and buy a new vehicle, NPR reports. Another report suggests that on Black Friday, shoppers should be able to negotiate an average of 26% off the price of a Ford F-150, including factory incentives.

How do we know? The statistics are from TrueCar.com and a report from the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper reveals the auto specialty website used a statistical analysis foir the findings and "compared daily car, truck and SUV prices for several years and found the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, is the day with the biggest discounts."

"The discounts from dealerships, as well as manufacturers' incentives, generate the highest discounts of the year on Black Friday," said Jesse Toprak, an analyst for Truecar.com.
Daniel Costello of NPR muses, "I would rather run a marathon in the Arctic than go to a mall on Black Friday, but word is the crowds aren't that bad at the dealerships that day."

CNN Money notes that it is "crunch time for car dealers" and they have a video report as well as more on the discovery that Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) is indeed the best day to get a good deal on cars, trucks and SUVs.
