Bridezilla? Bride Sues Florist Wants $400K for Wrong Flowers
Oct 18, 2007
Is she a Bridezilla? A New York bride is suing a florist for four hundred thousand dollars because the flowers they provided were the "wrong shade." Elana Glatt, who is a lawyer, is suing Posy Floral Design in Manhattan for alleged breach of contract. She says Posy Floral Design on East 72nd Street substituted pastel pink and green hydrangeas for the dark rust and green ones she had specified for 22 centerpieces, reports the New York Times.

"The use of predominantly pastel centerpieces had a significant impact on the look of the room and was entirely inconsistent with the vision the plaintiffs had bargained for," Glatt, a lawyer, said in the lawsuit, filed on behalf of herself, her husband, David, and her mother-in-law, Tobi Glatt, who paid for the flowers.

The Associated Press reports that Stamos Arakas, the florist, said that he and his wife, Paula, tried to match the color of the hydrangeas with a picture Glatt had given them, but explained to her that the colors might not look the same. He said he had many satisfied customers.
In her suit, which outlines numerous “distressing and embarrassing” offenses, she accuses Arakas of “unjust enrichment”. Arakas told the New York Times that Glatt had sent him several emails prior to filing the lawsuit, demanding a $4000 refund but he ignored them because "they were so insulting."
