Aug 29, 2007

Fidel Castro was dead again last weekend rumors and speculation claimed in a flurry of reports last Friday. Is he really gone? Who knows, no one ever sees him. But now the dictator has been propped up and is reportedly sticking his nose into American presidential politics and he supports Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

No surprise there. Castro, 81, has not appeared in public for more than 13 months after announcing he had undergone intestinal surgery in July 2006. The editorial Tuesday, one of dozens published in the past six months under his name, came out four days after rumors of his death, stoked by blogs, led to an outpouring of emotion on talk radio in Miami. Cuba's government denied the rumors.

Judicial Watch has this: "In an editorial published in Cuba’s official Communist Party newspaper, Granma, Dictator Fidel Castro says a Clinton-Obama ticket would be invincible. Castro writes that Hillary for president and Obama for vice president would create a winning combination because Hillary is the (Bill) Clinton successor and Obama is the popular African American candidate"

"Castro is rooting for Hillary because he has fond memories of her husband. The dictator praised Bill Clinton for sending federal agents to “rescue” Cuban boy Elian Gonzalez from the home of his Miami relatives in 2000 and says Clinton was “really kind” to him at a United Nations summit meeting that same year."

Fidel Castro could easily be dead. If he's not does he really expect us to believe he's penning editorial from his bunker on American presidential politics?
