Global Warming Hypocrisy: Al Gore Won't Sign Energy Ethics Pledge
Al Gore uses a lot of power at his Tennessee mansion. He spends a lot of money to make certain his house is quite comfortable. He tries to justify that by noting that he purchases 'green energy.' When it was exposed by a conservative think-tank that the Gores spent $30,000 a year on energy for their suburban Nashville homeand burned 221,000 kilowatt-hours last year, or 20 times the national average, Gore tried the 'green and 'carbon footprint'defense.

Kalee Kreider told ABC News' Jake Tapper, "I think what you're seeing here is the last gasp of the global warming skeptics. They've completely lost the debate on the issue, so now they're just attacking their most effective opponent." Syndicated columnist Debra Saunders nailed it in her March 21 column writing, "The message comes across loud and clear: The Gores are rich, and rich people are going to burn a lot of energy. They won't let their belief in global warming crimp their lifestyle."

So today Al Gore was preaching about ethics and global warming on Capitol Hill and attempting to place himself on the high throne above all others as a prophet. It worked for a while - until he was asked to sign a personal energy ethics pledge. The pledge was presented to Gore by Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Ranking Member of the Environment and Public Works Committee, during today’s global warming hearing.
According to a release Senator Inhofe showed Gore a film frame from “An Inconvenient Truth” where it asks viewers: “Are you ready to change the way you live?” “There are hundreds of thousands of people who adore you and would follow your example by reducing their energy usage if you did. Don’t give us the run-around on carbon offsets or the gimmicks the wealthy do,” Senator Inhofe told Gore.
“Are you willing to make a commitment here today by taking this pledge to consume no more energy for use in your residence than the average American household by one year from today?” Senator Inhofe asked.

In short, Gore refused to take the pledge. Perhaps we should listen to Gore when he is willing to make sacrifices. Until then, he's just another limousine liberal and DC hypocrite.
