Jesse Jackson has called a press conference in an attempt to stifle the heat headed his way for comments he made into an open mike about Illinois Senator Barack Obama. The "Hot" microphone was a live mic and of course it being recorded and it has ended up with Fox News. That cable news station will play the tape in its entirety tonight on the Hannity and Colmes show.

Jackson reportedly slams Obama and says Obama may cut his nuts out with the black community, a screaming headline from Matt Drudge on his popular Internet website seems to suggest. An earlier report here seems to suggest that as well and notes some of the other slams against Obama from the Reverend Jesse Jackson.


A report from Chicago-2 (CBS-TV Chicago) says that Jesse Jackson will hold a press conference and likely repeat his apology or the Reverend may even expand on the "I'm sorry" statement. The live microphone comment has already been all over the cable channels and some will now wonder if Jackson is really in Obama's corner.

The Obama camp is so stunned that they have yet to release a statement and they likely do not know quite how to handle it. This might be very bad for Jesse Jackson, but he will be working very hard to turn it to his advantage. Van Jesse Jackson turn it around?
