Karl and Darby Rove are now divorced. They were married for 24 years and have one son together and a court in Texas has granted their request to end the marriage. The couple is said to have split amicably, even spending the Christmas holiday together and with their son Andrew Madison Rove, according to an insider cited by Politico.

According to a bio from Wiki, she is the former Darby Tara Hickson and "is a breast cancer survivor, a graphic designer, and former employee of Karl Rove & Co."


Spokeswoman Dana Perino said: "Karl Rove and his wife, Darby, were granted a divorce last week. The couple came to the decision mutually and amicably, and they maintain a close relationship and a strong friendship. There will be no further comment and the family requests that its privacy be respected."

Rove is a former senior adviser to President George W. Bush and is thought by many political observers (including Bush) to be the architect of the successful back-to-back victories for Mr. Bush in 2000 (over Vice President Al Gore) and in 2004 (over Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry).

The president publicly thanked Rove and called him "the architect" in his 2004 victory speech.
