Madeleine McCann Still Alive Parents Believe
Kate and Gerry McCann, the parents of missing Madeleine McCann have said they believe their daughter is still alive. The parents have been tireless in their campaign to keep little Madeleine in the news and the couple told Sky News that the hunt to find the four-year-old should not become a case of unsolved abduction and that their child had to be found. They have also said they will step back from the media spotlight but the search for their four-year-old will carry on.

Speaking in Rabat last night, Mr. McCann said: "Kate and I's role in the campaign will probably not be as public as it has been during the last three weeks. "We certainly want to take time to reflect on what has been achieved and how best we can help the investigation. "There will be a period of reflection."

The couple have said they have no intention of returning to the UK at least until the end of the summer and Mr. McCann, a cardiologist, rejected suggestions he was planning to go back to work part-time. "I might have to go home for meetings, but Kate and I have no immediate plans to leave Portugal.
"I cannot think about anything else at the moment other than finding Madeleine. I do not know if I would be safe to go back and practice as a doctor at the moment." The McCann's visit to Morocco, where they met with the country's interior minister, was intended to follow up a reported sighting of a girl matching Madeleine's description at a Marrakesh petrol station.

The couple have also visited several other countries in Europe where they think Madeleine may have been taken since her disappearance in Portugal. They are due to fly from Casablanca to Lisbon before driving down to the Algarve where their daughter was kidnapped 40 days ago and will arrive in Portugal today.
