Megan Williams Tortured: Black Woman Held, Abused by Six Whites

Megan Williams, a 20-year old black woman, was tortured for a week by six whites in West Virginia, police allege. The woman's captors forced her to eat rat droppings, choked her with a cable cord and stabbed her in the leg while calling her a racial slur, according to criminal complaints. They also poured hot water over her, made her drink from a toilet, and beat and sexually assaulted her during a span of about a week, the documents say.
The ghastly week-long ordeal for 20-year-old Megan Williams ended Saturday when she stumbled out of her captors' shack near Charleston, pleading for help from cops responding to an anonymous tip at the address.
A report from the Associated Press says that Williams was not a random target, prosecutor Brian Abraham said Wednesday. She had a "social relationship" with one of the suspects, he said. The victim had a previous relationship with Bobby Brewster, one of the six in custody, Abraham said. He was charged in July with domestic battery and assault after a domestic dispute involving the same woman.
"She obviously had some sort of social relationship," Abraham said. "That is based on the fact that she was present at his residence on a prior date."
The sick crime includes many alleged despicable acts. "She had two black eyes. Part of her hair had been pulled out. She had lacerations on her legs, marks on her neck and she had been physically, mentally and sexually abused", said Sheriff Hunter.
The six suspects are in jail pending bond. They've asked for court appointed attorneys. The National Ledger is only using Megan Williams name because her mother requested news reports include it. Her mother, Carmen Williams insisted the press identify her daughter so that the public is "aware that things like that will happen."
