By Gene Byrd
Jun 11, 2008
There are those that still want President George W. Bush impeached despite the fact that he will be out of office next January. Filmmaker Michael Moore is one of those cheering on the thirty-five articles of impeachment introduced against President Bush by Democratic congressman Dennis J. Kucinich of Ohio. And why wouldn't Michael Moore want it? His film Fahrenheit 9/11 was designed to help get Bush voted out of the White House when it was released in 2004.

That strategy failed miserably as Bush was re-elected and many on the left are still quite bitter about the American voters soundly rejecting their ideas and proposals during that election season. A report from the Washington Post notes that a parliamentary maneuver that will probably force a vote on Tuesday. U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler is hawking his new book so he is looking for publicity and he signed on to Articles of Impeachment for President Bush on Monday. He called it "a sworn duty" of Congress to act against the president.
Kucinich insisted on reading the resolution into the Congressional Record, a process that took nearly five hours. The wild-eyed left wing types like Moore cheered, yet mainstream Democrats yawned. According to the Post, House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) "suggested yesterday that engaging in a lengthy debate over impeaching Bush in the waning days of his administration is not a productive use of the House's time."
